The Guineas
Festival 2021

In the last week we have
published 96 winning tips

Guineas Day 1 - 1st May

1:15 Bickerstaffe 3/1 W

Promising type who made a winning start at Hamilton last year. Not in quite same form in Ayr listed race but back on the up when making a winning handicap bow/return (6f) at Pontefract. More to come

1:50 Bell Rock 7/2 W

Didn't do a great deal wrong in big-field handicaps last term after making a winning reappearance in a 1m handicap at this venue. Clearly very capable fresh and mark is within reach

2:25 Came From The Dark 5/1 W

Did well last season and further improvement this spring, just losing out at Musselburgh on return before making amends at Newbury, doing well to reel in Garrus. Remains one to be positive about

3:00 Pyledriver 9/4 W

Made up into a very smart 3-y-o last term, landing King Edward VII at Royal Ascot and York's Great Voltigeur. Also good third in the St Leger. Holds very solid claims with ground conditions to suit

3:40 Wembley 7/2 W

Didn't win a maiden until his fourth start, but improved in leaps and bounds in the autumn, chasing home Thunder Moon in National before finishing ahead of that rival in Dewhurst

4:15 Great Ambassador 5/2 W

Sold from Ralph Beckett's yard for 40,000 gns and took his form up a level when winning at Kempton on reappearance 5 weeks ago. Could be more to come back on turf and he's high on the shortlist

4:50 Mohaafeth 11/4 W

Well-made, progressive colt who made it two from two this term when readily landing a C&D handicap 17 days ago. Well worth this step up in grade, so one to note

5:25 Magical Land 5/2 W

Frankel colt who has found one too good on each of his 3 starts in maidens at upto 7f, caught further back than ideal here for the latest of them. 1m promises to suit now and one to be interested in

1000 Guineas Day 2 - 2nd May

1:15 Francesco Guardi 3/1 W

Winning debut at Salisbury in July and posted useful effort when 1½ lengths third to Saint Lawrence in listed race at Newbury. Excuses for odds-on reversal final 2-y-o start and he retains potential

1:50 Global Storm 5/1 EW

Gained both wins at this venue and was unlucky not to finish closer on February's return to action at Meydan. Likely has a bigger performance in him

2:25 A'shaari 13/8 W

A'shaari and Sea Karats are the best prospects in the field and it would be little surprise were either regally-bred filly to emerge as an Oaks contender, the former shading the vote over this trip

3:00 Fooraat 9/2 W

Is still relatively unexposed and got back on the up when second to Lavender's Blue at Kempton on return and, with the longer trip likely to suit, she may well reverse form with that rival and make the breakthrough in Group company

3:40 Mother Eart 17/2 EW

Has a similar profile to the same yard's Hermosa, who was just shy of the very best at 2 before reappearing to win this in 2019

4:15 Secret Strength 4/1 EW

Those with experience don't set a high standard so it wouldn't surprise if either Secret Strength or My Dubawi were sharp enough to make a winning start given the yards they represent. The former has more speed in his pedigree so is preferred

4:50 Annandale 9/4 W

Impossible to rule any of the quartet out but preference is for Mark Johnston's progressive who went one filly, better than on reappearance to score at Nottingham last month and this step up in trip could bring out the necessary improvement required to follow up

Tawleed 3/1 W

Opened account at third attempt in 7f novice at Leicester in September, making all and quickening clear. Below expectations on Kempton handicap bow but remains with potential. Blinkers on 1st time
